WHERE THERE'S TROUBLE End Chapter 2

Melissa was lost in her unconscious mind, she saw before her a long red brick wall, she was standing in the middle of the aisle, in the little prison chapel with long dark wooden pews on either side of her. Melissa approached the gurney at the end of the aisle; which was in front of a tiny altar. A pale blue sheet covered the body, as she came near she felt trapped in a strange feeling of a deep peaceful sadness. She reached down pulling back the soft cotton sheet uncovering the face of the dead man. She touched his handsome face; which was still warm to the touch. A tear rolled down her cheek as she bent down and kissed the father of her child on the cheek. She felt the tears fall on his face; which now began to fade to a whiter shade of pale as she reached down putting her hand under the cover to hold his cold dead hand in hers. Melissa said a prayer to her God to show mercy to the one she loved, just as she promised Charles she would do just before his execution. Melissa relived this day over and over again in her mind while she was knocked out on the little leather bench, with the thin blanket Hays had covered her with. It was when she felt a short, sharp, shock that she awoke as Hays pinched the inside of her arm, twisting the delicate skin with enough force to break it. Melissa tried to cry out in pain, but it was a hopeless effort as she realized she was bound by the tape at her mouth, ankles and wrists. She looked  up and instantly recognized Hays from the trial and then she stared off in shock as she looked to her left where Bengiman Pruce sat glaring at her with pure malice and evil thoughts running through his mind.
"Good.., your awake." Mr.Pruce said as he spit in her face as she lie there feeling the warmth of his saliva burning her bloodshot eyes.
Melissa heard the sound of the jet engine over her beating heart; which ached with a pain as terrible as knife plunged through it when she realized her dire situation, it became clear to her now she would never see her son again. This was the most dreadful thought to her, and understanding he was gone from her forever, she closed her burning eyes and prayed for a quick and painless death. Any rage or hatred or instinct to survive she had fell away as if it were nothing ever, whatsoever to her. Melissa knew they had her, and Xation's family would never let her go. They had found her and now whatever happened to her next, she knew this all could only mean her life was over.
Now Hays and Bengiman watched Melissa as they pulled the little blanket off her throwing her down onto the floor of the aircraft. The two evil men felt a strange release in her body. She showed no tension or rigid stiffness from the pain of torture they inflicted upon her as she closed her eyes and gave up hope. Hays became very upset by this as he realized this woman was as strong and brave as Charles, and it was then he  understood how the two of them made a perfect match. Hays knew he had to keep her alive for Xation's sister's abusive revenge but he felt the overwhelming urge to open up the cabin door and throw her out of plane just to hear her scream. But this is something he was not allowed to do so he and Mr.Pruce spent the next hour tormenting her flesh in various unspeakable manners. Melissa suppressed all the pain, sending her mind away to another place, and as they painfully violated her body she found herself sitting on a mountain top watching the sheep graze along the green hillsides below. She was gone.
